Yes, Triple. Like, she's having TRIPLETS.
No, she did not use IVF or anything of the sort. Her hubby said he only wanted 3 kids. She has two boys already. So God laughed and they got triplet girls.
I think I'm getting too old for this baby shower thing. I don't want to play anymore games. I don't want to ooo and awww over the same baby stuff I ooo and awww over at the store. I just want to snack on some muchies, admire the belly, give a gift and go home. I think I've played every baby shower game in existence.
But when you've known someone for 20 years, and they are popping out triplets, you're kinda obligated to throw a shower.
So I've been busy trying to harness my inner martha stewart/bakerella/pioneerwoman/best bites self to make sugar cookies for the favors.
Not just any sugar cookies, I wanted to make butterfly ones. On sticks! In three different colors for the triplets. For 50 people. That's 150 cookies. So, realistically probably 30 people- so that's 90 cookies.
As a gentle reminder, I also work from home, have 4 kids I home school, which one of them is a 2 month old. I'm sad to say 90 cookies just didn't end up happening. I think I ended up with 60 usable cookies.
Then I tried to decorate them. This didn't go so well. They look alright, but just not what I had in my head. So now I've got 50 cookies, some broken bits of cookie, and probably 20 that have pink icing on them. I have no desire to look at a cookie, cook a cookie, or ice anymore cookies.
So, I've resorted to making Out best Bite's pretzel turtles. They turned out much better. At least they look finished, as my hubby says.
(It doesn't show very well, but I did them with pink, purple & green M&Ms)
So if you want to know where I'll be, I'm unwrapping 500 rolos and eating all the yellow and blue M&Ms, and looking forward to tomorrow when the shower is. Then I will be DONE!
I'm sure the shower will be great! Your friend will love it because it came from your heart!
