So today was interesting. First, I put the two younger kids in the tub while I was cleaning the bathroom. I took some towels to toss into the washing machine, when I figured I'd throw in the towels by the screen door to the backyard.
I picked it up, and there were maggots in the towel. Ewwwwww. Triple Ewww. Threw out the towels, hubby sweeps up maggots while I Ewww some more.
Then comes the awful sound of the power going out, then quiet. So I get the kids out of the tub and realize, there's no towels. They are all in the dryer being dried, or the washer. I plan ahead so well, don't I? I remember I had 2 towels left hanging in my bathroom, so they used them.
So 12 hours later, the power is on! Yay! I'll tell the rest of the no-power tale tomorrow after I have taken a shower and gotten some sleep. On with my savings!
I went to Rite Aid and bought more toothpaste (I was paid to bring it home with coupons), some gum, and some heartburn medicine. Total OOP was $1.95. I didn't take a picture.
Then to CVS, where they were out of the free with ECb stuff. I ended up with two toothbrushes and some Pantine Pro V shampoo and conditioner.
I also went to a new (new to us) store- DD's Discounts. I found some good deals on clothes for Princess. For $30, Princess got 3 shirts, 1 shorts, 1 leggings and Daredevil got a pair of shorts. They had a few short/shirt outfits for $4.99, for us is a really good deal. Better then Goodwill prices.
I also went to Walmart and price matched all the good stuff out of the ads- 6lbs of bananas at 3 lbs for $.99, Strawberries at $.89 a lb, and soda at $4.99 a 24 pack. We went through 6 lbs of bananas and 5 lbs of strawberries in a day. Today we went to Walmart and bought a new outside rug ($10), a inside rug ($7) for the back door, a door weather strip for the bottom of the garage door ($5), and some water balloons. It was a odd feeling to go through Walmart without any coupons.
So that was it for my Sunday. I've now got to see how our food are doing after being in the fridge/freezer with no electricity for 12 hours.
